It had been over a decade since I had seen my mother. Kind of a problem when after she and my dad got divorced, she decided to move back home to Australia and I remained here in the US with dad. We continued to write back and forth, and occasional phone calls but that was about it. She did come up when I was starting High School, along with her new husband, and my little brother and sister.
